Although science has focused for decades on understanding and ameliorating the deficits that aging brings, the complexity of this process still limits what science can do.
Aging for many women is wrinkles, gray hair, experience, and happy grandmothering; that is the best scenario. Unfortunately, aging implies decay of our body at the cellular level and in each of our organs; the biological causes are many. We are trying to understand whether aging is a process that we can revert or, essentially, it is unstoppable. As a scientist studying different aspects of aging, my expectation is to find clues that allow keep us healthier for a longer time.
